MVP Flag Football & Basketball

Volunteer Coaches Needed

We rely on volunteer coaches to make this league a success. As a coach, your child is guaranteed a spot on your team. We will provide coaching instruction at our coaches clinic prior to the start of each season. Each head coach will receive a coaches folder which includes helpful information including a practice plan. Each coach will receive an MVP coaches shirt. All that we ask is that you bring a positive, encouraging attitude toward every child and we will help you with the football and basketball aspect of coaching your team.

Each week, teams will practice for 30-minutes prior to the 1-hour flag football game.  For basketball, the practice is 30-minutes followed by a 45-minute game. Therefore, your total time commitment will be approximately 1-hour and 15 minutes to 1-hour and 30-minutes each week for 7 weeks. All practices and games take place on Sundays (except for summer league flag football). There are no practices or games during the week (except for summer league flag football). To become a coach, please register yourself online. We appreciate your willingness to volunteer your time and energy. You will have a tremendous positive impact on the kids that you coach. Head coaches will receive an account credit of $100 that can be applied toward any MVP program.

Our Philosophy

Make it fun. This is the primary objective and cornerstone of our philosophy, regardless of whether it is a game or a practice, football and basketball at the youth level should always be fun. This requires a little creativity on the part of the parent/coach to incorporate fun methods of coaching and teaching fundamentals throughout the practice and game.  Each flag football team will consist of 7-10 players and 5 will play at one time. Each team will use a rotation system and the coaches will do their best to make sure that your son or daughter will receive equal playing time. Our goal is to keep our teams small so that all kids receive the maximum amount of playing time. For basketball, we play 4 on 4 with a maximum of 8 kids per team. All volunteer coaches will attend a coaches clinic prior to the start of the season.
