MVP Basketball Information:

Each player will receive an MVP reversible basketball jersey as well as a basketball sports trading card each week and a medal at the end of the season.
Jerseys will be returned after the last game in exchange for an MVP T-shirt.
The difference between MVP Youth Basketball and other youth basketball leagues is that we keep our teams small with no more than 8 players per team so that every child will get plenty of playing time.
Focus is on fun, age-appropriate basketball fundamentals and teamwork.
Coaches attend a clinic prior to the start of the season.
* We are always in need of coaches! Please consider volunteering to coach your child’s team. It is a fun and rewarding experience. There is no experience necessary. We provide all the necessary tools & information to coach. Head coaches will receive a $100 credit for coaching.
All practices and games will be played on 8′ hoops and the format is 4 on 4 during the game. Coaches may opt to raise the hoops to 9 feet for 2nd/3rd grade teams.
Kindergarten kids will play with mini-basketballs (size 3) and first, second and third grade kids will play with junior size basketballs (size 5).
Two practices and games will take place at the same time in the gym.  Kids will play width-wise in the gym as opposed to the full length of the court.
MVP is happy to honor friend and coach requests. We will do our best to accommodate requests until we reach the maximum number of players per team. If you have a request, please state your request in the comment box during the registration process.
In some situations, we will allow for more than 8 players per team based on numbers of coaches.
The time frame on Sundays will be between the hours of 11:30 am and 5:15 pm.
Typically the kindergarten teams play in the early session, followed by 1st grade teams, and then 2nd/3rd grade teams later in the afternoon.
Each week will begin with a 30-minute practice followed by a 45-minute basketball game. Total of 1 hour 15-minutes.
There are no practices or games during the week.
The focus is always on fun, while teaching basic, age appropriate basketball fundamentals.
The game format is 4 on 4 with teams consisting of no more than 8 players to ensure maximum playing time for all!
Divisions: Kindergarten; 1st grade; 2nd/3rd grade combined; *2nd/3rd grade all-girls division at the Tualatin (Bridgeport) location.
Depending on numbers, 3rd grade may have a separate division

Schedules and team assignments will be available approximately one week prior to the start of the season.

To view the team roster and schedule information, login to your LeagueApps account or download the LeagueApps Play app. Information will be available to view 1-week prior to the start of the season.

Weather Information: For MVP Youth Basketball, we are required to adhere to the Tigard-Tualatin School District policy with regards to gym closures due to inclement weather. If we have to cancel or postpone basketball due to severe weather, we will notify all families by email. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to make up a missed practice or game but we will try our best to extend the season if the gyms are available.
